Imagining Santa as a blacksmith forging candy canes by the fire. The dramatic lighting and vibrant color made this piece an absolute dream assignment. The really interesting part about illustrating holiday scenes like this one, is that I’m typically working on them in August. Which really gives me something to look forward to. Lot’s of fun!
