Luca 10” x 8” Acrylic on panel
I’ve been having a lot of fun painting roosters lately, Polish roosters in particular. These roosters are amazing! Pure attitude. The original divas. Stars in their own right. Polish roosters are the 70s rock version of big hair!
Below is the final framed version.
This year’s Mountain Oyster Club Art Show was absolutely awesome! What an amazing weekend! Jam-packed with great art, and great conversations with so many of my fellow artists. Very inspiring! Which makes being back in the studio this week all the more fun and productive!
A party of even one Bison would be one big party, wouldn’t you say? I really love the idea of this huge bison making its vast surroundings not-so-vast in comparison. I guess it’s all relative. Humbling really.
Lot’s of fun painting this portrait!
I am thrilled to announce my painting “Remo” has been accepted into the Mountain Oyster Club’s 56th Annual Contemporary Western Art Show and Sale.

Plain Sight Acrylic on panel 20”X18”
This was painted in acrylic on wood panel. I painted a digital color sketch of it some time ago to work out color and composition. I think it’s appropriate that it becomes my last post of 2024. The title, Plain Sight, is inspired by the confident attitude shown on the face. Which is how I’m feeling about 2025.
Happy New Year!
The Christmas Decoration 9.5” X 7.25” Oil on Gessoed Paper.
This is some sort of Christmas thingy. I had to glue it at one point because I may have dropped it. Thankfully, the broken piece allegedly happened on the bottom part just below the upside down flowerpot piece… All is good.

It would be difficult not to find inspiration in the indelible imagery of our past. This is my take on one such impression.
Desert Royalty 8.5 X 6.25” Oil on panel
This is one of my favorite neighbors—I see it every day. Every now and again I'm fortunate enough to catch it just as the sun finds it.
Arlo Acrylic on panel 16”x14”
My new painting, Arlo, will be showcased in The Mountain Oyster Club’s 55th Annual Contemporary Western Art Show and Sale on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The historic setting of the Pond Mansion is a beautiful venue. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the show. Stop by and say hello.
Egon/mixed media. This piece is literally the result of looking at something with fresh eyes. I came across a sketch I did of a rooster some months ago but never went any further with. Upon seeing it again I thought, “hmm.” And spent the rest of the day following that hmm. Well, before I knew it, most of the day had gone by and I didn’t get to what I planned to get to. Honestly, I didn’t mind the diversion.
