Cody and Skylar got its start from an inkling of a vision of a 10 gallon hat I had in my head — By the way, why isn’t there a ten gallon version of a ball cap? Someone should get on that right away. I’ve seen enough westerns through the years to have easily made the character under the hat a big hefty fella, but, to be honest, the contrast between this hat and a very lean cowboy character, was too much to resist. Skylar, on the other hand, was an easy call given the desolate desert surroundings. He’s almost prehistoric in a way, part vulture, and part pterodactyl. The important thing here is the color and texture this image inspired.
