I never got enough of the snow growing up in the Midwest. If it were up to me, there would have been at least 2 to 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground every couple of days—give or take. As far as I was concerned, the world looked better in snow—and still does.
I once witnessed a thundersnowstorm while waiting for the bus to pick me up for classes. Thundersnowstorms are actually pretty rare. The sky turned a bluish-green, sporadically lit up here and there from the lightning. I’ve never heard thunder during a snowstorm before, and I’ll never forget it.
This piece is a homage to the whole idea of living around snow. If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience snow first hand, I highly recommend it. Just make sure to wear a good hat.
