Egon/mixed media. This piece is literally the result of looking at something with fresh eyes. I came across a sketch I did of a rooster some months ago but never went any further with. Upon seeing it again I thought, “hmm.” And spent the rest of the day following that hmm. Well, before I knew it, most of the day had gone by and I didn’t get to what I planned to get to. Honestly, I didn’t mind the diversion.

This piece began as a simple sketch. I quickly realized it would be a lot more fun to paint, so I did. I planned to add a figure or something to the composition to make it more interesting. But, the more I painted, the more interesting the tree became. So I let it stand.
End of story.
